Isla Mujeres
The Ultimate Paradise - Make a day of it!

Isla Mujeres is a quaint, charming island located directly across the bay from Cancun. With its warm, transparent waters it is a perfect home for the dolphins. It is also an island full of history, spectacular beaches and bargain shopping.

Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres is conveniently located in the heart of the island. You are only a 10 minute drive from either end of this island of adventure.

To get to the island hop aboard our ferry for a scenic 40 minute boat ride across Cancun Bay. Remember our flexible ferry schedule allows you to enjoy the island either before or after your program.

Archaeologists believe that Isla Mujeres was a sanctuary for Mayan virgins, and that Mayan women were required to make a pilgrimage there as part of their rite of passage into womanhood. The ruins of a Mayan temple are located on the southern tip of the island. It is thought that the temple was dedicated to the Mayan fertility goddess Ixchel. Isla Mujeres was also a stronghold for pirates. You can visit the pirate Mundacas hacienda. If you visit the graveyard located on the northern end of the island, you will find various head stones engraved with skull and crossbones.

The Island regained fame in the 70s when the caves of the sleeping sharks were brought to the worlds attention by Jaques Cousteau. The Island is also known for excellent snorkeling.

Cozumel
Chankanaab National Marine Park - Make a day of it!

At 29 miles long and 10 miles wide, Cozumel is the largest island in the Mexican Caribbean. Its location just 12 miles of the Yucatan coast, makes it easily accessible by ferry or plane. Cozumel is recognized worldwide for its bewitching scuba diving and snorkeling sports. The spectacular coral reefs attract thousands of divers each year. Cozumel is also an island of incredible natural beauty, from its white sand beaches and turquoise waters to the mangroves and cenotes hidden in the tropical jungle.

Dolphin Discovery Cozumel is located in Chankanaab National Marine Park. As well as offering world-class diving and snorkeling, this beautiful park houses our spectacular sea lion show, a lush botanical garden, great reproductions of famous archaeological sites, and a typical Mayan village. To refresh yourself you also can swim the underground river and the tropical lagoon teeming with brightly colored tropical fish. Chankanaab facilities also include restaurants, bars and a dive shop. You will definitely want to allow time to enjoy the park either before or after your dolphin activity.

We would like to remind you that our Dolphinarium is inside of the Chankanaab National Marine Park, located at Km. 9.6 of the South Coast Road, approximately 15 minutes away from downtown.

All our dolphin programs include the admission fee and taxes for Chankanaab National Marine Park.

Puerto Aventuras
In the heart of the Riviera Maya

Puerto Aventuras, set on a spectacular stretch of white sand beach, is a 900 acre resort community located 98 kilometers south of Cancun. The resort is built along the beach and around a large marina complex.

The Dolphin Discovery facility sits in the heart of the complex and is built on a lush, tropical island in the middle of a lagoon that is home to our dolphins.

Visitors to Puerto Aventuras have the added benefit of seeing our two manatees, Romeo and Juliet who were rescued from a polluted lagoon in 2000, and who are now the ambassadors of their species, educating and delighting our guests in our Sea Life Discovery programs.

Puerto Aventuras is also an excellent destination for people who want to relax in a setting of amazing natural beauty. Enjoy a drink or a meal at one of the nearby bars or restaurants and watch the world go by.

For those craving a little more activity, the area offers golf, diving and fishing. Its location in the heart of The Mayan Rivera makes it an ideal base for people wanting to explore the coast. The famous archeological site of Tulum is only a short drive away.
